Upgrading of the Central Square of Ano Kyrenia, Municipality of Egialia

This project concerns the renovation and landscaping of the central square of Ano Kyrenia in the prefecture of Achaia and which was funded by the Republic of Cyprus. The purpose of the intervention was to highlight the cultural identity of the settlement, which was affected by the fires of 2007, to be a pole for social gathering, to upgrade the lives of the inhabitants but also in the long run to help in the development of the demographic evolution of the community.
The main tasks concerned:

• Landscaping works of the square, with new paving, stone cladding, creation of sitting areas, installation of lighting fixtures, expansion of the playground and creation of flower beds with planting of trees.
• Works for the restoration of the spiritual center, with the creation of new sanitary facilities and the renovation of the existing building.
• Works for the consolidation of the slopes and creation of walls from wire boxes for the better restraint of the ground and the aesthetic upgrade of the space.
